"I have owned the above L-17B for the last 11 years. It went through an 8 1/2 year restoration where everything in the plane was removed. A modern panel and an IO-520BB factory reman was install because the airplane was going to be used in cross country flying. The airplane was Ryan's photo ship for publicity articles. I have pictures from the Smithsonian, magazine ads, flying magazine articles, kid's trading cards, etc showing this actual plane with its Bu number. The airplane was in the New Hampshire National Guard from 1949-1956. After that it went to the Fort Devens flying club in Mass. from 1957-1976. There it was painted red with white stripes and given the name, "Big Red". I had a man from Omaha who flew it in 1964 come fly it with me this summer. I don't know who got a bigger thrill out of it, him or I. He also gave me pictures and put me in touch with others who flew N10133 and sent more pictures."
